Response to the Productivity Commission Interim Reports

The AADA welcomed the opportunity to respond to the recommendations provided by the Productivity Commission in the interim reports on ‘Creating a more dynamic and resilient economy’ and ‘Investing in cheaper, cleaner energy and the net zero transformation’. While the AADA is supportive of modernising Australia’s corporate tax system, the submission sheds light on the potential adverse impact of moving to a lower company income tax combined with a new Net Cashflow Tax (NCT) for the franchised new car dealers. Additionally, the AADA recognises and supports the need for greater transparency in emissions reduction policies through regular cost effectiveness assessments of both new and existing measures.
