The Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA) welcomes the opportunity to respond to the NSW Fair Trading consultation on the NSW Motor Dealers and Repairers Act Regulations (the Regulations) remake 2025.
The AADA does not support the proposal to introduce new repair classes for BEV work in its current form.
The AADA acknowledges and supports in principle the importance of ensuring the repair workforce keeps pace with technological advancements. However, we are concerned that the proposed changes to repair classes under the NSW Motor Dealers and Repairers Act Regulations (MDRA) do not account for the existing requirements already met by franchised dealers under their manufacturer agreements.
