The AADA welcomed the opportunity to submit a response to the Climate Change Authority 2025 Issues paper consultation. The submission focuses on the recent implementation of the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES), the likely impact of NVES on dealers and the difficult task ahead when only the supply side is targeted by government policy. The AADA has advocated for introduction of demand side consumer incentives and for the point of compliance to be moved from point of import to point of sale.
