Response to Victorian Inquiry into Electricity Supply for Electric Vehicles

The AADA welcomed the opportunity to respond to the Victorian Parliamentary inquiry into electricity supply for electric vehicles, noting that the transition to low and zero emission vehicles requires consideration of energy systems, regional access and waste management. Dealers, as the primary consumer touchpoint, are directly affected when grid demand, pricing or infrastructure do not meet consumer expectations. To support this transition and strengthen consumer confidence, the AADA recommends targeted dealership-based consumer education, a state-wide EV charging rollout plan, reintroduction of demand-side EV incentives in Victoria, and the establishment of a national automotive end-of-life stewardship scheme.
