The Australian Government, through the Department of Treasury, is conducting a consultation on the effectiveness of the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and the indemnification provisions that suppliers, including franchised new car Dealers, are entitled to.
The AADA lodged our submission last week and have offered to participate in any meetings or roundtables.
We appreciate all the members who took part in our indemnification survey which has been referenced throughout the submission and summarised in an attachment. We will be following up with Treasury in the near future and keeping Members updated with any developments in the space.
