In this submission, the AADA responds to the NSW Fair Trading Consultation Paper which canvasses proposed changes to repair classes and qualifications under the Motor Vehicle and Repairs Regulation 2014. The AADA does not agree with proposals to create new classes of work and additional qualifications for automotive technicians in NSW and highlights that franchised new car Dealers performing work on EVs are extensively trained by the vehicle manufacturer as a requirement to sell, service and repair these vehicles under their franchise agreement.
