The AADA Study Tour to the 2019 NADA Show has come and gone. Delegates on the tour travelled to San Francisco where they were given the opportunity to network and attend the exhibition, workshops and keynotes delivered by world class experts. Some of the notable speakers at the event included:
- Alan Haig, President, Haig Partners
- Dale Pollak, Founder, Executive Vice President, vAuto / Cox Automotive
- Mark King, Executive Emeritus, Adidas
- Wes Lutz, 2018 NADA outgoing Chairman
- Charlie Gilchrist, 2019 NADA incoming Chairman
Delegates were also treated to a number of social events which were well attended by both Australians and international dealer associations and their representatives.
The AADA secretariat used the opportunity to develop an understanding of policy challenges abroad. CEO David Blackhall and Executive Director Communications and Policy, James Voortman met with representatives of NADA and state dealer associations and learnt a great deal about the automotive franchising protections currently enjoyed abroad.
They also met with colleagues at the UK’s National Franchised Dealer Association with whom they discussed common challenges and opportunities.
These engagements are immensely valuable and will stand the AADA in good stead to deliver the best possible outcomes for its members.
The show is over, but planning is already underway for next year’s event which will be held in Las Vegas from 14 to 17 February 2020.
