The peak body representing new car franchised Dealers has welcomed the appointment of Scott Morrison as Australia’s new Prime Minister.
“I would like to congratulate Scott Morrison on his appointment as Prime Minister and I look forward to working with his Government to progress some of the key issues affecting the automotive industry,” said AADA CEO David Blackhall.
“Key among these issues is the establishment of an Automotive Code of Conduct to bring some fairness and balance to the relationship between new car Dealers and offshore vehicle Manufacturers,” said Mr Blackhall.
“We have made significant progress on this issue with the outgoing Turnbull Government and are determined to advance this important policy with the incoming Government,” he said.
New car Dealers play an important economic role in cities and regions throughout Australia, where they employ 70,000 staff and contribute some $15 billion to the economy.
Mr Blackhall thanked outgoing Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, for his service.
