The peak body for Australia’s new car franchised dealers, the Australian Automotive Dealer Association, today welcomed the launch of ANCAP’s new safety app.
The ‘ANCAP’ Safety app which was launched by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Darren Chester, at the Lennock Hyundai dealership in Canberra, will provide consumers and new car dealers with an additional channel to access ANCAP safety ratings and vehicle safety information.
This is the first time an official crash-tested model will appear in an Australian new car dealers’ showroom highlighting the growing cooperation between car dealer networks and ANCAP.
“ANCAP has a strong track record in raising awareness of vehicle safety among consumers and the development of this app will build on that good work,” said AADA CEO David Blackhall.
“This new tool will allow sales staff in showrooms to use a mobile device to provide independent vehicle safety information to new car buyers and I encourage dealers across Australia to download the app for use at the point of sale,” said Mr Blackhall.
“Vehicle safety is an important consideration for car buyers and I congratulate ANCAP for this initiative and Minister Chester for his continued support for road safety,” he said.
